Since the introduction of Girevoy kettlebell Sport in Ireland members, clubs and the governing body working on a voluntary basis have had to take most of their funding from their own pockets to support members competing both nationally and internationally. This is not sustainable over a long time period. Currently the sport of kettlebell is under review by the Irish Sports Council to gain recognition. The process takes at least three years before sporting bodies can gain recognition so they can get access to government funding. The All Ireland Kettlebell Lifting federation is making progress toward fulfilling all the necessary requirements that are needed to gain recognition but we still have a lot of red tape to get sorted and put in place. In the mean time to grow the sport, support the membership, the standard of competitors, the professionalism etc…. takes a huge amount of effort by everyone involved. Unfortunately our biggest hold back is finance which there is noting off to access other then government funding or securing a main sponsor. Up to now all fundraising has been done at grass roots level to meet the financial costs. We have joined with ifundraise.ie to try and raise some money toward the supporting the AIKLF Ireland Team with equipment, uniform and travel etc…… Please click on the link for more info Ireland Team Fundraising
